"When I was sweeping the road, there was a store manager who approached me to join Cold Storage. I gave it a try, and I like it!" he shared happily.

He loved the environment so much that after completing his National Service, he decided to continue with Cold Storage. A few years later, sensing his potential, the Store Manager decided to send him for butchery courses. His exceptional results led to his promotion. As a supervisor, his daily routine comprises of cutting, checking the quality of the meat, and assisting in the fulfilment of orders.

Even after so many years, he still enjoys every minute of his job. He loves interacting with customers and finds immense satisfaction in being able to recommend the best cut to complement their different cooking purposes. He loves that crowd and the buzz so much that he chooses to work on weekends and have his off days on weekdays instead. "The store is busier on the weekend, that is why I want to help," he said.

Loyal and appreciative, Murugas has turned down job offers from competitors and has been with the company for 23 years and counting. He believes that Cold Storage has provided the training and opportunities for him to grow and because of that, he is proud to be an employee of Cold Storage.
