About Les Vins de Vienne

A unique partnership between three superstars of Rhone wine-making with top ratings from Parker and Wine Spectator

In 1996 three wine growers from the northern Rhone, Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard and François Villard joined forces to realise a dream: together they would recreate the historic vineyards of Seyssuel north of Vienne in South-Eastern France. The region had been known since Roman times for its outstanding wines, but production came to a halt in the 1890s, when the vines were decimated by phylloxera.

In addition to the production of wines from Vienne (IGP des Collines Rhodaniennes, appellation status pending), the three winemakers set up a negociant firm producing wines from different appellations around the region: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Saint-Peray, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Côtes-du-Rhône.

Today Vins de Vienne is one of the most respected houses in the Rhone, offering a splendid choice of wines from both the North and South Rhône under one banner. Vins de Vienne plays in the league of well established houses such as Guigal, Jaboulet or Chapoutier.

What sets it apart is that it is run by three famous, individually Parker rated producers - Pierre Gaillard + Yves Cuilleron + François Villard - each of whom are stars in their respective appellations and who control every step of the process for every Vins de Vienne wine, from planting and pruning to blending and bottling.

Vins de Vienne have received rave reviews and high ratings vintage after vintage. Many of their higher end wines are now on allocation.
